Public tours of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, which continue to this day, were first offered by the Loxahatchee Historical Society in 1994. The oil house has been converted to a small historical museum, and a building outside the station serves as a gift shop and meeting place for the tours. The tower underwent an $850,000 restoration in 1999-2000, which made this oldest of structures in Palm Beach County look just about as good as new. The Lighthouse uses a Fresnel lens - one of only 13 still in use.

Peanut Island is manmade. It’s a big pile of dredged sand created over the past 80 years. It got its name from a peanut factory that at one time was to be built there. The county has done an excellent job turning Peanut Island from a seedy hangout into an enjoyable place for everyone.

Roger Dean Stadium is the spring home of the Marlins and Cardinals as well as serving as the home for two Florida State League teams (the Jupiter Hammerheads and the Palm Beach Cardinals). It is not identical to all the other new parks that are being built. The exterior of the park is beautifully landscaped with palm trees and features a nice red brick facade. Roger Dean Stadium is still one of the better Spring Training ballparks.
